Flutter app development: one codebase, two platforms, native feel.

Flutter is our default for most mobile products because it lets one team ship a polished app to iOS and Android at the same time without compromising on how it looks or performs. Zolarys designs and builds Flutter apps end to end — product design, the Flutter app itself, a Firebase or custom backend, testing and store submission — for startups and businesses in India and abroad.

Is this the right fit?

A good fit for a founder launching a mobile product on both platforms with one budget, a business adding a customer or staff app to an existing service, and teams who want a codebase their own developers can take over later.

What we can deliver

Design made for Flutter

Screens, components and motion are designed with Flutter's widget model in mind, so what you approve in Figma is what ships. Light and dark themes, accessibility and different screen sizes are handled in the design system, not patched afterwards.

A well-structured Flutter codebase

Clear state management, typed models, separated data and presentation layers and automated tests where they pay off. The result is an app that is pleasant to extend, whether by us or by your own team.

Backend, auth and integrations

Firebase for products that suit it — authentication, Firestore, storage, push notifications and analytics — or a custom Node or serverless backend with Postgres where the data model or integrations call for it. Payments, maps, camera, biometrics and offline support are scoped per product.

Release on both stores

Signed builds, store listings, screenshots and privacy declarations for the App Store and Google Play, plus crash reporting and analytics so you can see how the first release is used.

Decisions to make before the build

Is Flutter right for this product?

For most consumer and business apps, yes. If the product depends heavily on platform-specific hardware, background processing or very demanding graphics, we will tell you where native Swift or Kotlin is the better choice — sometimes as a native module inside a Flutter app.

Firebase or a custom backend?

Firebase gets a first release to market quickly and scales well for many products. A custom backend is worth it when you need complex relational data, heavy integrations or full control over infrastructure costs. The decision is made on your data model and roadmap, not on habit.

How the project moves forward

  1. 01Define the core task, platforms, backend approach and the first release.
  2. 02Design the flows and build a clickable prototype.
  3. 03Develop the Flutter app and backend in reviewable milestones with test builds.
  4. 04Test on real devices, submit to both stores and support the launch.

Budget and scope

Flutter projects are quoted after a scoping call. Because one codebase serves both platforms, a Flutter build usually costs considerably less than two native apps for the same scope. Share a brief or prototype and we will return a scoped estimate with milestones.

Questions about flutter app development

Does a Flutter app feel native?

Yes, when it is designed and built well. Flutter renders its own interface at native speed and follows platform conventions where it should — navigation gestures, scrolling physics, keyboards and permissions behave as users expect on each platform.

Can our developers maintain the Flutter app later?

Yes. We structure the codebase to be readable and documented, and hand it over with setup notes. Dart is quick for developers from a web or mobile background to pick up.

Can you add Flutter features to an existing app?

Often, yes. Flutter can be added as a module inside an existing native app, and an existing Flutter app can be extended after a code review. We will assess the codebase first and recommend the safest route.
