Thaxas is Zolarys' flagship in-house AI education platform built to help students study smarter from their own course material instead of generic internet knowledge. Students can upload lecture slides, PDFs, notes and recordings into dedicated workspaces where AI instantly generates flashcards, quizzes, study guides, summaries, lecture notes and grounded answers with citations from their own content. Unlike traditional AI assistants, every response is tied directly to the student's uploaded material, creating a trustworthy study companion for exams, assignments and long-term retention.

THE CHALLENGE

Where we started.

Students today juggle multiple disconnected apps for note-taking, flashcards, AI chat, lecture recording and revision, creating a fragmented learning experience that wastes time and reduces productivity. Existing AI tools also struggle to understand course-specific context, often producing generic or inaccurate responses that students can't fully trust. The challenge was to create a single, intuitive platform that could intelligently understand a student's own learning materials, generate reliable AI-powered study resources, and provide everything needed for studying—from revision to homework assistance—in one seamless workspace.

THE APPROACH

How we got there.

We designed and engineered Thaxas as an end-to-end AI learning ecosystem. The platform combines retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent document processing and multiple AI-powered learning tools inside a unified workspace. Students can upload virtually all course material once and instantly access specialised tools including AI chat, flashcards, quizzes, lecture transcription, study guides, essay assistance, homework solving and PDF summarisation. To improve long-term learning, Thaxas integrates FSRS spaced repetition while collaborative study groups allow shared resources without compromising individual progress. The result is a focused study environment where every tool understands the same course content.
